Caribbean captain Rovman Powell set a record in the second match of the ongoing three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. Powell achieved the feat of taking 45 catches in the 90th match of his career in the short format of T20.

Powell became the first West Indies cricketer to take a record-high 45 catches in T20Is by catching Zaker Ali at the Aaron’s Vale Ground in St. Vincent today.

Former West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo was the top performer with 44 catches in 91 matches so far. Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard took the third-highest 42 catches in T20Is for the West Indies, participating in 101 matches.

Bangladesh, batting first in St. Vincent, West Indies, lost the toss and scored 129 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Shamim Patwary played an impeccable innings of 35 runs off 17 balls with two fours and two sixes for the team.

Chasing the target, Taskin Ahmed and Tanjim Hasan were confused by the pace of Shakib and the spin of Rishad Hossain and Mahedi Hasan, and the Windies were all out for 102 runs in 18.3 overs. Bangladesh won by 27 runs and secured the series with one match in hand.
